Booking and Payments

Booking Process:

Contact Us: Please get in contact so that we can organise the details of your stay and make sure that we have everything ready for your arrival.

Deposit: Once we know which activities you will be doing and have finalised your itinerary, we will send you a Wise link or our bank information (if you are unable to use Wise) with the amount of the deposit which will confirm your trip.

Confirmation: Once we have received your deposit, we will send you a confirmation so that you know that your deposit has been received and your trip is ready to go.

Payment: We ask that you pay the remainder of the fee in cash in Indonesian Rupiah on arrival. We will let you know how much is outstanding and if we are organising your transportation we can stop so that you can withdraw this amount on the way. If you have any concerns or difficulties about withdrawing cash please let us know in advance so that we can work with you.

There are no ATMs in Simolap, you are able to withdraw money in Medan before you arrive. If you are travelling from Bukit Lawang, we can organise to stop on the way if you really need to withdraw. However, the ATM near Bukit Lawang is one of few and there can be difficulties with some cards so it is safer to pick up your cash in Medan before you arrive to make sure that you don’t miss out.

The reason we ask for the remainder to be paid in cash is so that we can distribute this payment among our team. These payments must all be made in cash.

Please Note: Management reserves the right to cancel a booking and refund a deposit under exceptional circumstances.

Cancellation Policy and Refunds:

Cancellation: If you intend to cancel your booking with us please let us know as soon as possible so that we can tell our guides and drivers. Once we have received your deposit and issue a confirmation we begin organising everything for your stay so it is important you let us know that you won’t be coming as soon as possible.

Refunds: Once we have received your deposit and confirmed our team, we are only able to give you a refund according to the following terms. This is because once we have received your deposit and issue a confirmation, our guides and drivers do not take other work so it would be unethical for us to not give them a salary, even though you did not end up doing the activity.

However, we understand that circumstances may change and therefore our cancellation policy is as follows:

Cancellation 90 days or more before arrival: Full refund of deposit excluding any transaction fees.

Cancellation 30 days or more before arrival: 50% refund of deposit excluding any transaction fees.

Cancellation less than 30 days before arrival: no refund of deposit available.

Change of Activities: We are unable to promise that we will be able to change the activities that you have decided to do at short notice, but we will do our best to accomodate and be flexible. Because of this, we ask that you let us know as soon as possible if you intend to make any adjustments to your itinerary so we can work with you to offer alternatives.
