Our Guesthouse

Stay with Us!

Located on the border of Gunung Leuser National Park, staying at our guesthouse means you will wake up to the sounds of the birds in the trees, and fall asleep to the trickle of river that runs from the jungle past our house.

Located just a short walk from our own private hot springs and some pristine jungle swimming holes, it is the perfect place to get away from the crowds and enjoy an authentic jungle experience.

We live and cook as a community, and in addition to enjoying your own private room, you can join in daily jungle life at the centre of the action - the kitchen! Where our team will whip you up some delicious local foods with fruits and vegetables harvested from our very own organic garden. Enjoy your meal with a view of the monkeys jumping through the trees and if you’re lucky you’ll spot our resident hornbills flying overhead.

We are lucky to be in a remote area, so you will likely have the property to yourself (with our team there as well of course) to relax in the peacefulness of the amazing Gunung Leuser Ecosystem.

As we are so remote, we don’t have the extras of a resort or hotel in the city, our accomodation is basic. However, we will fill your tummy with delicious food, your heart with laughter and your mind with memories that will last a lifetime!

We are committed to transparency and make a commitment that all of the money you spend at Simolap will stay within our community or support our conservation work. We make sure our teams are paid well and that we source our supplies from local businesses within our community.
